WOW – I have been to foodie heaven today and the Little Lady has sampled the likes of sausages and parsnip crisps and everything in between as we visited the BBC Good Food Show at the NEC. Running from Thursday to Sunday, there is still a chance to go along and savour the delights on offer as well as soak up the atmosphere of this bustling exhibition.
Over the weekend, a fab line up of celebrity chefs grace the hall from the Hairy Bikers to Mary Berry. Sunday has a full programme of events so get there early to make sure that you can take advantage of everything on offer. A spiralling snake of Mary Berry fans lined the pathway to the signing area, where the brilliant baker was set to make an appearance this morning. All clutching their cook books or selfie-sticks, they waited with a buzz for the queen of baking to appear so if you are planning to get a snap with a celeb make sure you check out timings and schedule these into your visit to avoid disappointment.
You could book a seat in the Supertheatre to witness Saturday Kitchen, one of Mrs View From a Daddy’s favourites (‘although it’s not the same without James Martin), come to life or meet the team behind the Good Food Magazine where celebrity interviews as well as cookery demos will take place throughout the day.
Along with recipes being brought to life, there are hints and tips for the foodies in us all, there are hundreds and hundreds of artisan and independent producers offering delicious ingredients, modern new cookware and gadgetry and some rather tasty treats and tipples.
We had a great day but be warned, it’s a huge draw so get there early, savour the atmosphere, plan your day so that you can do everything that you’d like to and build in some pit-stops to make the most of the delightful flavours on offer.
