Much fun was had at Winter Wonderland, Tamworth to kick start our christmas holidays. Keen to make sure we started the break good and proper we had booked a morning slot at the Snowdome’s attraction. We arrived in plenty of time to suss out where to go and to apply our layers which were much needed. We were escorted down to the attraction’s welcome area where our host, dressed in Victorian garb, entertained us and introduced us to storyline for the event. Santa has a missing elf and needs a new recruit….
After the plot line was introduced and everyone was buoyed up, we were shown into the snow area where there are sledges galore. We quickly grabbed a sledge and begun the circuit. The little lady loved it. Holding on tight, we zoomed around the course before anyone could get in our way. There are also do-nuts to ride with two slopes. They are of course much smaller than the main slope (the smallest with the gradient of about the size of a child’s slide but enough to get the little ones warmed up for the larger slope). This area got a little crowded but it soon cleared. Much fun was had at this zone – it seems we have a thrill seeker for a child. All together you have 30 minutes on the snow which soon zooms by.
At the sound of the trumpet, you are called to make your way to the Santa show where the storyline continues. In a seated and warmer area, Santa and his three potential elves entertain the crowds and call upon them for participation. Although, she’s only 19 months, our little lady was hooked.
Once the new elf has been elected, you are shown to the animal area where reindeers, piggies, donkeys and many more await.
Although you don’t get to meet Santa in person to received a gift, the experience for us was great. There was no charge for our little one as she’s under two but she enjoyed it and we would definitely go again.
