We have the pleasure of being able to take our holidays when View from a Mommy is off from school. For part of this summer, we set off to North Cornwall, Camelford, to be exact where we stayed at the wonderful Fenteroon Farm Cottages.
These beautiful, superbly equipped homes from home offer that bit of luxury you enjoy when on your holiday. They are close enough to everything for you to be able to get your essentials but far enough from the bustle of busy towns to be able to enjoy the beautiful countryside and the tranquility of the south west.
We stayed in a one bedroom cottage – The Yew Tree Barn, which ticked all of the boxes for us; a small family looking for a rest and some family fun. Set in a courtyard with parking on our doorstep, this gem had everything we needed; open plan living, a spacious comfortable bed, a whirlpool bath and a south facing private patio – luxury, luxury, luxury.
Fenteroon provided us with a travel cot and a high chair so we didn’t have to lug the essential child kit with us. There was even cutlery and plates suitable for little hands. Helen, our lovely host, had thought of everything from story books to DVDs to capture the interest of a little one on the inevitable rainy days.
A host of information greeted us showing us the array of attractions in this beautiful area along with a number of recommendations for places to eat. We were really impressed. Even the dog was made to feel at home with some goodies in our welcome hamper.
The location is just perfect; not too far from anything but discretely nestled so as not to be disturbed by anything except for perhaps the beauty of the robin red breast who visited each morning or the rabbits that run freely. Fenteroon has a children’s play area, which was a hit with our little lady.
With a range of different sized cottages available there is something for everyone.
We will definitely be back – dog and all!
