If you like a treat or two of delicious food then get along to the Stone Food and Drink Festival this weekend where you will find food for every fancy. In the heart of Stone today you will discover a farmer’s market packed pull of artisan and traditional flavours from freshly cooked sarnies to pots jammed full of flavours all to tempt you.
As well as Stone’s offerings of already super gastronomy, this weekend sees the Food and Drink Festival hosted at Westbridge Park. Under the shelter of canvas, there is stall upon stall for the foodie in you. Chocolates, marshmallows, pies, rolls, breads seasonings, olives, gins, beers, coffees – you name it and it’s there.
For the budding chef there are talks and tasting sessions as well as cookery classes and demonstrations. There are even sessions for mini chefs to pop on their pinnies and enhance their culinary skills. If cookings not for your little one, then maybe circus skills are? Once they’ve indulged in a huge cookie, an ice cream or delicious filled sausage sarnie, they could try their hand at hoola hooping at Panic Circus or crafting in the Little Foodies’ Zone.
Tickets are available in advance or you can pay at the gate. There is parking in the town but this is limited so the nearby Aston Marina are providing a park and ride service.
With pop up restaurants and bars from some of the famous names in the area including the Lewis Partnership and Joule’s Breweries, you know you’re in for something quite special.
We’ve enjoyed our morning and now the Little Lady and I are off to demolish our cookies and flapjacks.
